The adapters driver may need updating to a later version. Alternatively, changing a registry key may resolve it. Open a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type regedit, press Enter and in the left pane navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet. In the right pane, right-click EnableActiveProbing, click Modify to change its value to 0 (zero) to disable it. If it doesnt cure it, it must be a different problem, so reset the value back to 1 (one).
